2.1 Vehicle Escorting

Amalga can provide for the escort of vehicles during deliveries, collections, and movement around site. This is done by fully airside passed site logistics personnel who have extensive experience of working at Heathrow Airport. Please provide as much and specific information as possible so that we can provide you with as accurate a quote as possible. If you require vehicle escorts on a regular basis, please tell us in the space provided.

2.2 Hiring an Amalga Vehicle and Driver

Amalga utilises a diverse range of airside passed vehicles for the pickup and delivery of materials into site and can accommodate pretty much any requirement.

Please provide as much and specific information as possible so that we can provide you with as accurate a quote as possible.

2.3 Receiving Deliveries, Unloading and Distribution of Deliveries to Workface

On the T4 Retail Refurbishment Project, Amalga is acting as the designated materials handling contractor and has a team based on site to meet deliveries, unload them and distribute them to the relevant site. Amalga is also able to undertake this service on other projects. In order to maximise efficiency and to satisfy your requirements effectively, it is necessary for all deliveries to be booked in. Each delivery will be given a designated time that it should arrive at site.

2.4 Personnel Escorting

Amalga is able to provide fully qualified airside passed site logistics operatives to escort your employees in and around site. Please note the following costing conditions:

  • Personnel without full airside passes will need temporary airside passes in order to work in airside areas, and these last for a maximum of 5 days. The cost of these will be included in your quote
  • There is a ratio of one escort to three temporary pass holders
  • All temporary pass holders assigned to an escort must stay with that escort; you cannot split groups across site
  • Rates vary between night and day shifts

2.5 Waste Removal

Amalga can provide empty bins and take away full bins. Standard bins are 600litres and there will be a segregated waste system in operation. The classes of waste which will be treated separately are:

  • General builders waste
  • Plasterboard
  • Metals
  • COSHH

Please note that the methods of handling and disposing of hazardous materials (“COSHH”) are variable, and so are the costs involved in this. Service Requests for the provision of COSHH waste management is dealt with in Section 2.5.2.

2.5.2 COSHH Waste

As well as normal construction waste, Amalga can also handle and remove hazardous materials; COSHH waste. The method for handling and disposing of COSHH waste can vary depending on the exact material and the quantity. As such, please provide as much and specific information as possible so that we can provide you with as accurate a quote as possible. Tell us what you want to be removed, how much of it there is and when you want it removed.

2.6 Further Services

As outlined above, Amalga can also provide for a range of other services which may be of some use to you. These are:

  • Erecting of BAA Retail specified standard hoarding systems
  • Airside site support service
  • Soft strip demolition works
  • Builders clean
  • Provision of off site storage for materials and plant
  • Ability to take over management of delivery screening and delivery of liquids into airside areas
